We always give God thanks and praise for the gifts he gives to His church! Praise and worship form an integral part of our communion with God and it is one where we have a wonderful opportunity to come together as brothers and sisters in unity. There are many aspects of worship such as awakening, assurance, joy which God blesses us with even though the primary focus of our worship is God himself.
The church is blessed with so many people who have taken seriously the gift given to them in the ability to enable worship in terms of musicianship, leadership, music and songwriting.
One worship song/hymn which touches our heart here at Hope Pentecostal Community Church is called Speak, O Lord which was written by Keith Getty and Stuart Townend. We will be looking to the words in this song for encouragement during 2017 so when you visit us then there's a good chance you will hear it being played by our worship team.
Here's the song on Youtube sung by Kirsten Getty.
For people who haven't been to a church they often wonder what actually happens in a service. When you see a church on television more often than not it's in a dedicated building and they may be officials in robes, sometimes speaking in a very antiquated way. Meeting in a school the services at HPCC are somewhat more simple.
Sunday Morning Service
You will see from our Service Times that we begin with a time of worship. This is where a person or group of people who have been set aside and are gifted with the capability will lead the congregation in songs and hymns. All of are freely called to worship and you won't be expected to stand at the front and lead us in a rousing rendition of some hymn or worship song. Chairs are set up for the service and you are free to be seated wherever you want or feel comfortable.
At some point there may be a collection. This is entirely voluntary and there is no compulsion. No-one will be offended if you don't put anything in!
There will also be some notices regarding events and news. May be interesting for you, then again maybe not.
As is common in all Christian churches there will be a time that the Word of God will be shared, This will usually be by the Pastor, a visiting speaker or someone from the congregation who has been called to preach. As a church we adhere to Biblical principles and believe that the Word of God in His Bible is relevant and living for today and our circumstances.
There will also be time of prayer. This will usually be lead from the front and is often spontaneous in who prays.
And once a month we will extend the service so we can share a cup of tea and some biscuits after the service.
Wednesday Evening Service
You may be aware that we also meet on a Wednesday evening at the school. These meetings are open to all but they often focus on the internal workings of the church like finance and event planning. They may or not be useful for you so please check our Events page beforehand.
We do hope that you will feel led to join with us and look forward to seeing you, there is a warm welcome waiting!
Hi, my name is Emma-Louise and I am the Singing and Music Director at Hope Pentecostal Community Church. For 2017, we've decided to take on a new venture by starting a community gospel choir called Hope Community Gospel Choir!
We at HPCC are so excited to work with the community and we welcome all; you don't have to be a Christian, or come from our church organisation, you just have to be able to sing!
So if you can sing and you like the soulful sounds and inspiring words of Gospel music we would love to meet you. Check back regularly or get in touch to find out when we will be holding our regular practice sessions and auditions.
You can call us on 07517869382 or use the Contact tab on the left.
When God instituted the Church He wasn't expecting the church to be a one-man band. Many were called into positions within the church and everybody was called to belong and to contribute to a life and fellowship together. In 1 Corinthians 12 the Apostle Paul begins to relate how people of different talents and abilities must come together in unity and service to each other.
1 Corinthians 12:12 The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ.
It's always good to honour those who step forward and contribute to the work that needs to be done in the church.
