Pentecost Sunday
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you.
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you.
Sunday 12 December:
1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18 say: Rejoice always; Pray without ceasing; and in everything give thanks.
Philippians 4:6-7 says: Be anxious for nothing, but in every situation by prayer and petition with thanksgiving make your requests known to God.
Our speaker reminded us that gratitude is a decision we must all make for ourselves. Having gratitude creates a happy disposition on you and me. To be positive is to be happy. We should look beyond the mess and be grateful.
Ecclesiastes 12: 13-14, says: that the whole duty of man is to glorify God. Let us stop focusing on our situation and give glory to God. Let us recognize who God is and know that we have a lot to give God praise.
The hymn says: Count your blessings, name them one by one and you will be surprised what the Lord has done. Everyday you wake us, make a list of your blessings.
God bless.
Over the past week, I have been grieved by the tragic death of George Floyd and the events that have resulted from it. Having recently walked through our own season of loss, Linda and I understand the pain of losing a son.
On behalf of the Church of God of Prophecy Trust, in the United Kingdom, and our churches in Belgium and Netherlands, its board of trustees and eldership, we express our profound condolences with prayers to the family of Mr George Floyd, extended families and wider communities in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
